Last Friday, the entire primary school were jumping with joy. We often jump for joy down in primary, but Friday's jumping was for a particular reason.
Our students were participating in the Heart Foundation's Jump Rope For Heart - Jump Off. They were busy being active, having fun and raising money for the Heart Foundation.
The students and teachers amazed one another with incredible skipping skills. Double-unders, double-dutch, push-ups while skipping, criss-cross and around the world were some of the skills witnessed.
If you have a skipping rope or two at home, ask your child to show you how amazing they are. They could even teach you a skill or two. Skipping is a fantastic way to keep fit, have fun and increase your concentration.
The money raised by our students will be used to fund amazing research and programs to help people all over Australia look after their hearts. The Heart Foundation also works with doctors and nurses to make sure, if something happens to our hearts, we will be looked after in the best possible way.
Together our students raised nearly $4000. Congratulations on a fantastic effort!
Thank you to the enthusiastic parents, carers, grandparents and teachers who turned ropes, handed out ice blocks, measured heart rates, took photos and encouraged our keen skippers. The students really appreciated all you did to make our Jump Off a fun-filled and wonderfully successful event.
