World Teachers’ Day

‘World Teachers’ Day’ was instituted by the United Nations to acknowledge the significant contributions that teachers make in the lives of our young people. Many schools around Australia will celebrate this important event on Friday, 27 October and will honour their teachers in a variety of ways.

At NCS, we plan to provide a special afternoon tea for our staff on Tuesday of next week. We have chosen this date because this is the day when most staff, part and full-time, are at school. We will provide a suitably decorated cake to mark this occasion. Paul Dickinson, our Board Chair, has also volunteered his time to address staff at this event.

At Nowra Christian School we have much to be grateful for. God has provided us with a wonderful team of Christian staff. All of our teachers are committed to providing the children entrusted into their care with the highest quality Christian education.

At NCS we value the partnership between Home and School. As a demonstration of the strength of this partnership, I would wish to suggest that parents and students may desire to provide a word of encouragement for our dedicated teachers.

You could do this in a variety of ways, including:

• Writing a ‘Thankyou’ card or letter • Personally conveying your gratitude • Setting time aside to pray for individual teachers.
