On 14 February, Primary students represented NCS at the Super 8's Cricket competition in Wollongong.
Our team included Jonathan M (c), Regan B (c), Kent E (c), Mitchell and Lukas J, Daniel B, Devin K and Caleb M. Fielding first against Cedars Christian College, we restricted their score to 52 runs off 7 overs.
Two wickets to Caleb in his first over (including a catch by Daniel who also took three catches for the day) helped remove their top two batsmen. Runs to Kent, Mitchell and Lukas moved us within striking distance during the chase, but we fell six short.
During the second match against Southern Highlands Christian School, runs to Kent, Jonathan, Caleb and Regan helped push our score to a very impressive 88 off 7 overs.
We managed to bowl out Southern Highlands restricting them to a low total. The wickets were shared evenly between the bowlers.
During both matches, our fielding efforts were top notch! It was a fantastic effort by all the players who also displayed great sportsmanship. These results mean that we can build towards a strong team for the knockout competition in November. Well done boys!
