On Thursday, 7 March, our 24 prefects, house captains and vice captains, and student representative council members spent a day training in leadership. We had time to bond together as a team playing games and theatre sports, before we had three structured sessions on leadership, teamwork and selecting a charity to support in 2019. Our School Captain, Tamsyn led a session using an AVID carousel technique to answer the question 'What makes a good leader?' while our other School Captain, Lachlan gave a talk showing how Jesus role models good leadership. Our second session on teamwork was led by two of our prefects, Nic and Liz, who took us through a team-based moon survival activity and a team role questionnaire which helped us all to see how we fit into teams and why teamwork is such an important aspect of leadership. Our final session, led by two of our prefects, Ryan and Charlotte, was a facilitated discussion which highlighted the many charity opportunities available to support. It was a challenge to reduce it all to one choice, but we achieved it! The Secondary student leadership body forward to the opportunity to use what they have learned in our school community!
