On Monday 9 March, eleven of our primary department's finest swimmers headed up to Blacktown Aquatic Centre for the CSSA Primary State Swimming Championships.
The Years 3-6 boys and girls represented our school with great pride, swimming for the South Coast Zone. There were plenty of personal best times and exciting finishes in heats. Myles C swam a 3 and a half second faster time for his PB in backstroke, Thomas HS also set PBs in 100m (finishing 7th place) and 50m freestyle. Rubymay P shaved 3/10 of a second off her backstroke PB and almost 2 seconds off her freestyle PB to finish overall 6th and 7th places. Indigo P beat her backstroke PB by over 3 seconds to finish in 8th place. Our junior girls relay team (Sophie H, Jada B, Hannah J and Indigo) 'soldiered on' without injured team mate Layla M and finished in 11th place overall.
Our senior boys relay team (Jai M, Kent E, Daniel B and Harry D) won their heat, knocking a whopping 8 seconds off their zone time to finish in 2:57:49.
Well done to all who attended and to Layla and James M who weren't able to be there but did qualify. Thanks also, to all the parents who drove their children to and from the venue. Without you, we wouldn't have been able to send a team.
